VP of Public Safety Sales, North American Rescue
North American Rescue and Dassiet are working together to bring the UNO Emergency Splint to the United States. For the two companies, the collaboration creates significant growth potential in the billion-dollar emergency medical devices market. For officers in law and military, rescuers, and adventurers, it means even better tools to save lives.
North American Rescue offers critical tools to help responders navigate life-threatening emergencies – Products with a Mission®. The company signed a collaboration deal with Dassiet, a developer of innovative immobilization and mobility solutions, to become a distributor of the UNO Emergency Splint.
“We are excited to offer the UNO Emergency Splint as part of our ongoing efforts to offer innovative medical solutions for first responders. The Dassiet team shares North American Rescue’s drive to see lives saved, so this partnership is a natural fit,” states Brent Bronson, VP of Public Safety Sales at North American Rescue.
The steppingstone to a billion-dollar market
The collaboration with North American Rescue is a significant step for Dassiet in scaling a business to the United States market. Jimmy Takki, Dassiet CEO, sees many new business opportunities on the horizon after this groundbreaking deal,
“North American Rescue is to emergency and rescue products what Stanford is to hospitals: They are the company professionals look to when they need reliable, high-quality products to use. We are honored to have earned their trust in UNO.”
The UNO emergency splint was born out of necessity
Behind the unique product are Michael Lindroos, Dassiet's COO, and Mika Tyry, a former Finnish Defence Forces major who now works with Dassiet as a Leading Consultant. Tyry had the idea for UNO when he was training troops to prepare for an explosives-related emergency.
“During the training, I realized that a product for immobilizing patients in these scenarios does not exist. As a former counter-IED operative, I also realized how many lives that type of a splint could help save”, recalls Tyry.
He contacted Lindroos, the creative mind behind many Dassiet products, who immediately understood the purpose and need for this product. After two days, the two had created a prototype.
“It is a Swiss army knife for emergency immobilization. UNO is easy to use and versatile: You can support the neck, wrist, ankle, leg, and so on. It is also compatible with TCCC equipment, like tourniquets and IO needles”, Lindroos explains.
Initial feedback about UNO has been positive, and the emergency splint is already on its way to revolutionizing emergency immobilization globally. Now, thanks to North American Rescue, UNO will be more easily available to emergency medical professionals.
We’re always looking for like-minded people and organizations to collaborate with.
